Geddes Residence, West Vancouver By Nigel Parish

This beautiful wooden house managed a warm intrusion in the surrounding environment, all very carefully planned and designed by Nigel Parish from the Canadian Architectural Design Studio Splyce.
South oriented, with large windows and doors, the Geddes Residence has an irregular shape with view to the ocean. The interior’s main characteristic is the open space. The two levels of the house communicate through a steel stair. The superior level opens to an outdoor room and sundeck (plus sink and food preparation area). In natural tones of grey and beige, the Geddes residence was harmonically conceived for a family of five members in the spirit of freedom and independence. It’s a beautiful house, with large spaces and user friendly spaces, I could picture myself (and my family) running up and down those stairs in no time!

Metrogramma Superspazio From Milan, Italy

This 200sqm Milan Superspazio was made in 2007 by Metrogramma architects.
It’s a living room as big as a house or a house as welcoming as a living room. Downstairs is the actual living room area. Surprisingly, but in a very own vision quite logic, the kitchen is upstairs. It’s an open Kitchen, with a kind of balcony, all around the living room, for an open perspective and open communication with the inferior level.
It’s all white, with clean cuts and clear lines. Open spaces for open minds. This Metrogramma Superspazio is very much like an art gallery. The objects are easy to view because of the contrast. I don’t see how this Superspazio could suit a family, but I surely see it as a perfect house for a socialite.

The Grandbazaar Sofa By Maybe Design

If you have resident Alladdin fantasies, this could be your answer!
The Grandbazaar Sofa is an authentic oriental product, made by the Turkish design brand Maybe Design and featured at the recent Vienna Design Week. Even if it looks more like a bench than a sofa, the simple fairy tale analogy makes it special and attractive. It could bright up the uniformity of an interior, it could bring a smile on your visitors faces! I know I’d want to sit on the Grandbazaar Sofa, see if it flies away!

Vitra Red Beaver Chair And Ottoman By Frank Gehry

Retro does it! Frank Gehry’s 1986 Vitra Red Beaver Chair and Ottoman is today’s Pièce de résistance.
Made from corrugated cardboard with different widths, this textured ensemble is as round and as interesting as it gets. From afar you couldn’t tell the texture of this chair and ottoman and on a closer inspection, the irresistible desire to feel may take complete hold of you. Frank Gehry surely has a way with edgy geometrical design. The chair measures 33.75″H x 42.25″D x 33.25″W and the ottoman measures 15.75″H x 22.5″W. Ready to enter your living space for appx $4,700. I wonder how it feels to sit on a chair like this.

Fluorescent Lamp by Arx Portugal Arquitectos

You have to see this fluorescent construction by Arx Portugal Arquitectos! Keen on finding something new and innovative in every field, in every project, they managed to create this special lamp.
It’s an interesting construction and how they use the form and function of the fluorescent tubes was surprising to me. Because you don’t always have to bend things your way, you can work with them in their own language!
