House Tour – 9191 Thrasher West Hollywood

Every virtual tour I get of this residence, I have that movie deja-vu feeling. Because it simply isn’t a house to live in, it’s like a perpetual museum to expose in front of the world.
The 9191 Thrasher is more of a house on LA’s rooftop. Right above Sunset Blv, this place exceeds in steel and concrete. The decoration is mainly based on metal elements and organic materials in neutral shades. Because there was no need to divide the space with downright practical usage in mind, this luxurious residence is impressively large and guest-friendly. There are three main bedrooms each on its own level. The master suite is very open, with a tall ceiling in the living area (more than 13 feet) with an entire wall to the garden with pool and spa. The main suite has also a stone bath, gym and screening room. There’s a supplementary two bedroom and bath guest suite that could also be used for staff or office purposes.
The garage has enough space for four cars. There are also two laundries, everything you need to accommodate you in the most luxurious way, all for $10,500,000.

La Cividina Globos Colored Sofa

This is not your average furniture set and could only work in carefully decorated interiors.
La Cividina is a company that’s specialized in seating and furniture artisan products. Its name clearly points out the “Made in Italy†label carried around the World through the company’s special creations. Stefano Bigi is one of the house’s designers. He finished his Arts studies in France and being specialized in furniture design, mainly sofas and chairs. Globos is Stefano’s creation. A wooden frame with non deformable polyurethane and polyester fiber upholstery, Globos comes with non removable covers (you can choose fabric or leather). Globos measures 71cm/56cm in widh, 78cm/36cm in depth, a 44cm/34cm sitting height from a total height of 78cm/34cm, depending on its components.

House Tour – Cutler Residence New York

Today’s House Tour takes you through the Cutler Residence from Montauk, New York. It’s a project from 2007, made by Murdock Young Architects following the client’s request to build a house with maximum exposure to the surrounding nature.
The beautiful house is located in Block Island Sound, surrounded on three sides by water, woods and wetlands. The year round vacation home is L shaped, divided into public and private wings. More and more I see kitchens and dining areas upstairs. Downstairs you can find the family room, the outdoor living room, the pool with its attached sun bathing deck. The residence has four bedrooms and two of them can convert into a single guestroom for a family with children. To my eyes it’s a warm house, very connected and integrated in the surrounding landscape. Would you look at it as a vacation house?

Have Some Ready To Use Leather Panels

Leather has found its ways into our homes. And by that I’m not only implying the dressing room!
The ready to use Leather Panels are in some ways similar to the marble tiles only warmer and far more stylish and attractive than marble (given that the Leather Panels can be used in any room of the house). The Leather Panels are very versatile, ready to cover any surface. A 10x10cm square costs appx $18,80 and a 30x30cm $56,80. It has an 80s air to it and I prefer wood to leather when it comes to interior decoration. (via)

The Chubby Brothers Table By Brian Lee

The Chubby Brothers Table by Brian Lee looks surprising. It’s a perspective game, allowing a mysterious first impression on everyone who’s giving it just a quick look.
In fact it’s just a table with its correspondent 4 chairs. The hidden chairs are pretty comfy and they’re all made of ash wood. The table dimensions 58x42x29 are no problem since it can be broken down to 6 pieces (plus the chairs 17x20x28). Take a look and get the chubby table feeling! (via)

House Tour – Ocho House By Feldman Architecture

I have been searching for inspiration to use for my home and the wooden details on this house helped a lot. I love natural colored wood in a home, it makes it feel alive and look extremely cozy.
This house is located in the Santa Lucia Mountains in an area of oak forests and steep meadows. The construction was provided with overhanging roofs planted with tall native grasses and solar roof. The interior has a loft appearance with vast windows and tall ceilings. The colors used for the interior decoration are rather natural – butter beige, white, natural wood, dark brown and black. The master bedroom has a great view on the forest through almost two walls of widows. Regardless of all the wood used inside and outside, its green Energy and Sustainability Honor award (received from the American Institute of Architects), this House Ocho looks rather cold, wouldn’t you say?
